KANSAS CITY – Taylor University men's soccer player Zoltan Suranyi was named to the 2017 NAIA All-Mideast Region Team, as announced by the United Soccer Coaches.
The freshman helped Taylor secure the No. 8 seed in the Crossroads League Tournament, where the Trojans fell to top-seeded and 21st-ranked Spring Arbor in the first round to finish with a 6-8-3 record on the season.
Suranyi was selected to the All-Mideast Region Team after leading TU in goals (eight), assists (four), points (20) and game-winning goals (three) in his first collegiate season. The Dabas, Hungary native also picked up All-Crossroads League First-Team recognition for his performance this fall, as Suranyi's eight goals ranked sixth in the Crossroads League and his 20 points ranked seventh.
Suranyi is the first TU men's soccer player to earn the honor since Tyler Beachler, Josh Guiliano and Tim Daniels were named to the All-Mideast Region Team in 2011.
