Trojans Compete in Home Invitational
UPLAND, Ind. – The Taylor men's track and field team celebrated its seniors as the Trojans hosted the Taylor invitational at the George Glass Track and Field Complex.
Zach Warner and Joe Beamish took the top two spots in the steeplechase with Warner clocking a time of 9:44.64 and Beamish finishing in 10:02.07.
Matt Hall continued his stellar season with another victory in the 1500-meter run with a winning time of 4:00.16. Hall added a fifth place finish in the 800-meter with a time of 1:57.19 to finish just ahead of David Rodman who finished sixth at 2:00.12.
Stephen Cho led a quartet of Trojans to finish in spots four through seven in the 1500-meter run. Cho crossed at 4:06.01. Kyle Shelton added a fourth place finish in the 400-meter with a time of 50.65.
Senior Brandan Wilchcombe claimed another victory in the 110-meter hurdles with a time of 14.70. Gage Minniear added a fourth place finish in the same race with a time of 15.28. Noah Clayton added a solid performance with a second place finish in the 400-meter hurdles with a time of 55.54.
Kenny Higgins won the hammer throw with a heave of 49.10 meter and added a fourth place finish in the shot put with a toss of 13.51 meters. Harry Dantona also enjoyed a solid day in the field events for TU finishing eighth in the discus (38.58 meters) and a fourth place finish in the hammer (48.44 meters).
Taylor will now turn its attention to the Crossroads League Championships scheduled for next Friday and Saturday in Goshen, Ind.
