Taylor Completes Competition at Little State Championships
MARION, Ind. – Taylor finished 13th at the Little State Championships over the weekend hosted by Indiana Wesleyan.
Nathan Meister led the Trojans by collecting six points in the 5,000-meters, finishing third with a season-best time of 15:35.84.
Wade Jones continued to be a top performer for the Trojans in the sprints, finishing in 22.09 seconds and crossing the line in fifth place. Spencer Stout also contributed with a seventh-place finish in the 400-meter hurdles, clocking a time of 58.74.
Both TU relay teams scored with the 4x100-meter relay finishing seventh and the 4x400-meter relay team crossing the line in eighth. Stout and Jones teamed up with Carter Newman and Quentarius Jones in the sprint relay while Newman carried over and led the 400-meter relay with Orlando Chatwell, Lextin Willis, and Roman Hathaway following him.
Lyndon Miller hit a season-best mark of six feet two inches in the high jump and Nate Geijer hit his top mark in the shot put with a throw of 44 feet 2.75 inches.
The Trojan men compete next at the Drake Relays beginning Friday, April 24th.
