Taylor Men Kick-Off 2019 NAIA National Championships

GULF SHORES, Ala. – The TU men's track and field team appeared in two events on the opening day of competition at the 2019 NAIA Outdoor Track and Field National Championships with more appearances slated for Friday and Saturday.
On Thursday, the Taylor men's 4x800-meter relay team was the first in action. The foursome of Daniel Gerber, Ben Byrd, Connor White and Shauntis Lewis finished in 19th place overall with a time of 8:18.22.
Josh Roth, one of TU's multi-event qualifiers, was in action in the final event of the night. In the men's 10,000-meter, Roth raced to a 16th-place finish with a time of 33:33.83.
Tomorrow's action for the Taylor men will consist of Lewis in the 800-meter trials, Roth in the men's 5,000-meter run, and the men's 4x400-meter relay trials, which will feature Taylor's Matt Sakeuh, Lewis, Darryl Robinson and Collen Cramer.
