Roth Advances to Finals at NAIA Championships

GULF SHORES, Ala. – On day two, the TU men's track and field team landed another athlete in tomorrow's finals at the 2019 NAIA Outdoor Track and Field National Championships.
Josh Roth was the top performer for the Trojans on Friday, coming in 11th in the trials of the men's 5,000-meter run. Roth clocked in with a time of 15:10.24, which lands him in the field of 16 heading into tomorrow's final race.
Also competing for TU and closing out the 2019 season were Shauntis Lewis and the men's 4x400-meter relay squad comprised of Matt Sakeuh, Darryl Robinson, Collen Cramer and Isaac Cornfield. Lewis finished by placing 11th in the 800 with a time of 1:53.24. The 4x400 squad turned in their best time of the season in their final race by clocking in at 3:14.99, nearly two seconds better than their previous season best.
The Taylor men will return to action tomorrow to compete in the marathon, pole vault, steeplechase and 5,000-meter run.
