Taylor Men Compete at Indiana Tech
FORT WAYNE, Ind. – The Taylor men's track and field team competed in the Strive for Greatness Invitational hosted by Indiana Tech on Saturday. The Trojans ran strong, despite sending only a handful of competitors to the meet.
Caleb Anthony placed third in the 60-meter hurdles and improved his Indoor Nationals qualifying time with a mark of 8.20-seconds, hitting A standard in the event.
Sophomore Matthew Sakeuh recorded a mark of 7.08-meters in the long jump, hitting NAIA B standard and finishing third-of-25 jumpers.
Darryl Robinson competed in the 400-meters, finishing in fifth place with a time of 49.82. Teammates Caleb Anthony and Justin Foster also raced the 400-meters, placing 21st in 52.85 and 23rd in 53.37.
TU had two runners compete in the 600-meter run, with Isaac Cornfield taking 10th-place in 1:29.50. Justin Foster finished in 11th with a time of 1:29.57.
Finishing sixth overall, Adam Nichols jumped a height of 1.88-meters in the high jump.
Noah Zaleski placed 12th in the pole vault, recording a height of 3.92-meters.
In the throwing events, Liam Hesting and Caleb Newcomer placed ninth and 10th in the weight throw. Hesting had a toss of 13.64-meters and Newcomer logged a mark of 13.22-meters. Both men also competed in the shot put. Hesting placed fourth with a toss of 13.91-meters. Newcomer finished in 16th with a mark of 12.14-meters.
The Trojans will return to action on January 18 at the Mastodon Invitational.
