Bio
2015 at Taylor: As a sophomore, Gunderson was one of three Trojans to start all 52 games for a Taylor squad that went 36-16…Was a middle infielder throughout the season and made the transition from second base to shortstop defensively for the Trojans…Batted second in the order and produced a .291 batting average with an on-base percentage of .360 and slugging percentage of .463…Had 51 hits on the year in 175 at-bats with 11 doubles, two triples and five home runs…Scored 42 runs on the season which ranked third on TU and 11th in the Crossroads League…Drove in 34 runs and drew 20 walks from the plate…Was able to steal 11 bases in 12 attempts to rank No. 20 in the Crossroads League for that category…Led TU in successful sacrifices with four sacrifice flies and five sacrifice bunts…Had an eight game hitting streak from March 31 through April 6…Went 2-3 with a walk and two home runs, one solo shot and one grand slam, to total five RBI in a 11-1 win over Goshen on March 20…Was 6-of-9 from the plate with a walk, a double, two home runs, four runs scored, and six RBI in a one-sided doubleheader sweep of Saint Francis on April 6…Drove in what proved to be the winning run with a double in the top of the seventh inning to lift Taylor to a 2-1 victory over Huntington on April 14…Named to the Crossroads League All-Tournament Team for the second consecutive season after batting .381 with eight hits, seven runs scored, three doubles and four RBI in TU’s six games played.
2014 at Taylor: Played in 56 games and started in 54 for Taylor as a freshman, positioned primarily at second base...Taylor finished 42-17 overall for the most wins in program history for a season, highlighted by a Crossroads League regular season and tournament title and the program’s first win in the NAIA National Tournament, a 4-3 victory in extra-innings over Georgetown (Ky.)…Batted .328 from the right side with an on-base percentage of .356 and slugging percentage of .495, which ranked No. 26 in the Crossroads League…Finished the year with a total of 63 hits with 13 doubles, two triples and five home runs...Recorded at least one hit in 37 contests with 19 games of two or more knocks…Had 29 RBI and scored 45 runs of her own, eighth most runs scored amongst league players…Led TU in sacrifice fly’s (3) and sacrifice hits (8)…Posted a .946 fielding percentage on 202 chances and had a hand in 12 double plays turned from second base…Stole 14 bases in 16 attempts to rank No. 6 in the Crossroads League for that category…Batted .429 in the Crossroads League Tournament and was a combined 5-9 with a double, a triple and two runs scored in the two tournament final games against Huntington…Went 1-3 with an RBI single in the third inning in the historic NAIA Tournament win over Georgetown…Crossroads League Player of the Week (March 31 - April 6)…Named to the Crossroads League All-Tournament Team.
