AVON, Ohio – For the first time this season, Taylor Wilson earned the Crossroads League Player-of-the-Week honor.
In the CL Tournament, Wilson finished with a .500 batting average. She tallied a solo home run for the Trojans in their 2-0 win against No. 13 Indiana Wesleyan. Wilson also had a triple in the opening round of the CL Tournament against Goshen. During the duration of the tournament, she had three runs batted in and was two-for-two in stolen bases.
Wilson and her teammates earned an automatic bid to the NAIA National Tournament after the remainder of the CL Tournament was canceled due to persistent rain.
Wilson is joined by Lucas Beck of the men's golf team in receiving CL weekly honors for TU. The two awards give the Trojans a total of 52 Crossroads League Athlete-of-the-Week honors.
Taylor will find out which of the ten NAIA Opening Round locations it will play at on May 7. The NAIA Tournament will begin May 13 and will continue through May 15.
