Taylor Falls on the Road in Crossroads League Contest
MOUNT VERNON, Ohio. – The Trojans fell in three sets against No. 25 Mount Vernon Nazarene on Saturday afternoon in Crossroads League action.
Taylor struggled to find the floor in the match, hitting .063 with almost as many errors as kills.
The Trojans fell behind early in the second set but battled back and tied it up at 9, after which it was a tight set until the Cougars scored four straight points to break the tie and take a 23-19 lead, which they held onto for a win in set one.
TU dropped the second and third sets as MVNU pulled away in the middle of each one for the sweep with scores of 25-17 and 25-14.
Freshman Reagan Kleiman had the best hitting percentage for TU at .571 while tallying four kills in two sets. Lindsay Springer provided 26 assists in the match and secured three digs, one kill, one service ace, and a block.
Taylor (9-7, 0-4 CL) will look to rebound in its next match on Wednesday, September 20, against Saint Francis back inside Odle Arena at 7:00 pm.
