TU Drops Match Against No. 5 Indiana Wesleyan
MARION, Ind. – The RV Trojans were swept by cross-county rival No. 5 Indiana Wesleyan (15-0, 7-0 CL) on Saturday afternoon in Marion, Indiana.
Taylor was up against one of the top teams in the NAIA on Saturday and struggled to keep up with the offensive excellence of the Wildcats.
Gracie Conway led the Trojans with ten kills, but no other Trojan reached double digits en route to a .091 attacking percentage. Lindsay Springer had another great match with 30 assists and a team-leading six digs.
The Trojans struggled to keep up in the first two sets, dropping both with an identical 25-14 scoreline.
TU came out firing in the third set, matching the Wildcats point for point. The Trojans took a 14-12 lead off a kill from Reagan Salzbrenner before IWU scored four of the next five points to take the lead for good and close the match with a sweep.
The next match for Taylor (10-9, 1-6 CL) comes on Wednesday, September 27, against Goshen (7-12, 0-7 CL) on the road, with the match set to start at 7:00 pm.
