Season Comes to a Close in Crossroads League Quarterfinals

MARION, Ind. – Taylor fell against cross-county rival No. 1 Indiana Wesleyan (30-0) in the Crossroads League quarterfinals on Saturday in three sets.
The Trojans battled tough for the first half of set one, trailing by two after a kill by Reagan Salzbrenner. The Wildcats then flexed their muscles with a 10-2 run to close the frame at 25-15.
Taylor did not back down and hung with the undefeated Wildcats until three straight points pushed the IWU lead to 17-11. TU had a 5-2 run, which put them down 23-19 before falling 25-19.
The Trojans (15-19) dropped the final set 25-11, which closed the book on the season.
Lindsay Springer had a terrific debut season for TU, tallying 1,294 assists, which ranks second in the NAIA. Grace Ieremia had four blocks to bring her season total to 112, which ranks third in the Crossroads League and 23rd in the NAIA. Gracie Conway also had an outstanding season on the outside with 394 kills, which is third in the Crossroads League and 22nd in the NAIA.
Taylor graduates two seniors on the roster, with Chelsea Hurt and Savannah Strieter seeing their TU careers end.
