Patterson Qualifies for Steeplechase Final to Headline Day Two Action

ASHEVILLE, N.C. – Sam Patterson highlighted the action on day two of the NAIA National Championships for Taylor, qualifying for the finals in the steeplechase.
Patterson qualified for the steeplechase finals, finishing in the top five of her heat which was moved to Thursday after lightning on Wednesday. The junior carded a time of 11:16.56, which was the ninth-fastest mark in the preliminaries. Patterson will race on Friday, May 22, at 2:30 pm in the finals with a chance to earn NAIA All-American status.
Kiana Siefert competed in the 100-meter hurdles on Thursday, finishing fourth in her heat which was particularly fast resulting in a tenth-place finish just outside the qualifiers for the finals on Friday.
Addie Draper took the track in the 800-meter preliminaries for a second-straight year, finishing in 2:35.80 to finish 19th, nine places better than a year ago.
The Trojan women are set to finish competition at the NAIA National Championship on Friday, with Patterson in the steeplechase finals and Malarie Pinwar set for the 5,000-meter finals.
