TU Women Take Third at Crossroads League Championships
UPLAND, Ind. – The Taylor women's track and field team scored 155.50 to take third place in the Crossroads League Championships that concluded on Saturday.
Sophomore Miriam Wood collected a victory for the Trojans in the 400-meter dash on Saturday with time of 59.10.
Sophomore Plenseh-Tay Sakeuh won the 100-meter hurdles for the second straight season with a time of 14.83.
Rachel Blagg and Taylor Bluemel both scored points for the Trojans in the 1,500-meter run. Blagg raced to a second place finish with a time of 4:47.79 while Bluemel posted an eighth place finish with a time of 5:05.35.
Naomi Noyes and Blagg finished in third and fourth place in the 800-meter run. Noyes posted a time of 2:20.03 followed by Blagg at 2:21.31.
Amanda Dibley and Maddie Weeden also scored for TU in the steeplechase. Dibley clocked a time of 12:10.03 to earn a third place finish and Weeden raced to sixth place with a mark of 12:54.66.
Taylor's 4x100-meter relay team of Sakeuh, Lenna Klein, Sarah Robinson, and Wood raced to a second place finish with a season-best time of 48.56.
Taylor's 4x400-meter relay team of Wood, Margie Crosby, Noyes, and Abigail Phillips also ran well, posting a third place finish with a time of 4:05.55.
Klein and Sakeuh also scored points for TU in the 100-meter dash with Klein taking sixth and Sakeuh finishing seventh at 12.92 and 12.93, respectively.
Klein also ran well in the 200-meter dash, posting a fifth place finish with a time of 26.25. Mica Evans was one spot behind, finishing sixth with a mark of 26.46.
Brianna Jordahl added five points for the Trojans with a fourth place finish in the hammer throw, posting a mark of 43.16 meters.
The Trojans will compete in the North Central Invitational at North Central College in Naperville, Illinois on May 11-12 in TU's final tune-up prior to the NAIA Outdoor National Championships in Gulf Shores, Alabama on May 25-27.
