Women's 4x800-Relay Earns All-American Honors

BROOKINGS, S.D. – After breaking the TU program record in the 4x800 meter prelims on Thursday, the foursome of Brooke Studnicki, Corinne O'Leary, Giovanna Domene and Abbey Brennan came back to place fifth overall and earn All-American honors in the finals. The women recorded a time of 9:28.26 and earned a spot on the podium.
Studnicki also competed in the 800-meter run. She set a two-second personal best time and broke the TU program record for the second time this season. With a time of 2:15.50, Studnicki qualified for finals Saturday and holds the No. 5 seed.
In the 60-meter hurdle prelims, Sarah Robinson crossed in 9.06. The senior finished fourth in her heat and did not advance to finals, finishing 22nd overall.
Jo'Deci Irby made her nationals debut in the 400-meter dash. The freshman ran a time of 58.45 in the prelims and finished 19th overall.
Two women competed in the 3,000-meter prelims. Taylor Bluemel ran a season-best time of 10:26.41 in heat one. Sarah Harden crossed at 10:28.93 in heat two. Neither women qualified for finals and finished in 15th and 17th place respectively.
Two Taylor women will compete in the final championship day on Saturday, starting with Kenley Blake in the high jump at 2:30 pm (ET), followed by Studnicki in the 800-meter finals at 3:10 pm.
