Trojans Earn USTFCCCA Academic Honors

NEW ORLEANS – The Taylor women's track and field program recently claimed a host of academic awards from the United States Track and Field and Cross Country Coaches Association. TU's 2021-2022 indoor and outdoor women's track program was named a USTFCCCA All-Academic Team, with 12 student-athletes also taking home USTFCCCA All-Academic honors.
Taylor was one of over 50 teams from the NAIA to earn All-Academic Team attention after posting a collective grade-point average of 3.00 and above during the 2021-2022 year. The Trojans ended the year at 3.60, ranking 11th in the nation.
In addition to the All-Academic Team nod, Taylor also secured 12 All-Academic individual honors for posting cumulative GPA's of 3.25 and above with at least two full semesters completed, while also recording a national qualifying performance during the indoor or outdoor season.
Lynae Ackley, Audry Altum, Abbey Brennan, Audrey Brinkruff, Giovanna Domene, Mollie Gamble, Ashley Hall, Elayna Kitt, Corinne O'Leary, Eden Siples, Brooke Studnicki and Ahna VanderWall were all named as USTFCCCA All-Academic selections.
In addition to the success in the classroom, the Taylor women's track and field program excelled competitively as well throughout the 2021-2022 campaign, finishing 10th at NAIA Nationals during the indoor season and 26th in outdoors. Collectively, Taylor set six new program records, had 23 individual national qualifiers and picked up 12 NAIA All-American honors during that time.
