Schuitema, Lim and Haarer Lead No. 19 TU to Victory at Pilot Invite
SOUTH BEND, Ind. – It was a wave of purple at the top of the Bethel Pilot Spring Invitational on Friday, as Eleanor Schuitema, Shayne Lim and Hope Haarer finished first, second and fourth to lead the Trojans to their second team title of the season.
With expected rain on Saturday, the tournament moved to 36 holes on Friday, and No. 19 Taylor led throughout on the way to the 12-stroke victory. TU held just a two-shot lead over Bethel after 18 holes but fired a 302 over the second round to finish at 610 and 12 shots up on RV Bethel and No. 25 Lawrence Tech.
Schuitema and Lim played a part in that second round surge for the Trojans, as each carded an opening-round score of 74 before lowering their score in the final round. Schuitema shot an even-par 72 to overtake the lead at 146, with Lim posting a 73 to finish in second at 147.
The win was Schuitema's third of the season and the fourth of her two-year career at TU, while Lim logged her fourth top-five showing of her senior season.
Not far behind that duo was Haarer, who shot rounds of 75 and 79 to tie for fourth place at 154, posting the best single round and best tournament finish of her collegiate career.
No. 19 Taylor will compete for the 2026 Crossroads League Championships next on May 4 and 5.
