No. 8 Trojans Open Competition at National Championships
BROOKINGS, S.D. – The Taylor women's indoor track and field team had six student-athletes in action on the first day of the 2023 NAIA National Indoor Championships, with performances in the 5,000-meters and 4x800-meter relay.
The group of Emma Muterspaw, Emily Johnson, Kaitlin Burden and Olivia Jeanette ran their fastest time of the season, teaming to cross at 9:31.20. That mark was good for ninth place overall for the relay team.
Also in action were Ahna VanderWall and Mollie Gamble and both advanced out of the preliminaries and into Saturday's finals. VanderWall finished fourth in the prelims at 17:39.68 and Gamble followed in 10th at 17:42.40. Both will race for All-American honors on Saturday at 4:35 pm.
