French and Stimmel Named WGCA All-America Scholars

UPLAND, Ind. – A pair of Taylor women's golfers were named to the 2018-2019 Women's Golf Coaches Association (WGCA) All-America Scholar Team, announced by the organization this week.
Junior Annie Stimmel and sophomore Taylor French both earned 18Birdies WGCA All-America Scholar Team honors for the second consecutive season.
A total of 1,097 women's collegiate golfers were recognized with the minimum qualification being a 3.5 cumulative GPA and participation in at least 12 rounds during the 2018-19 season.
Stimmel and French both played pivotal roles in leading the Taylor women's golf team to the most successful season in program history. Stimmel and French both earned spots on the All-Crossroads League team while helping the Trojans to a third consecutive Crossroads League title.
Stimmel posted a career-low scoring average of 80.57 in 28 rounds. The junior from Hilliard, Ohio earned ten Top-20 finishes, including a pair of Top-10's and a runner-up finish at the Whistling Straits Championship.
French managed a career-low 78.29 scoring average in 28 rounds during the 2018-19 season. The sophomore from O'Fallon, Missouri notched seven top-5 finishes, including a victory at the Pilot Invitational.
Stimmel and French were the only Crossroads League players to earn 18Birdies WGCA All-America Scholar Team honors.
