Chow Named Second-Team Academic All-America

UPLAND, Ind. – Taylor University's Kelsey Chow became the latest TU student-athlete to earn Capital One Academic All-America status, earning Second-Team Academic All-America honors, as voted on an announced by the College of Sports Information Directors of America.
Chow was one of six women's tennis players to earn Capital One Academic All-America honors and was the lone Crossroads League student-athlete to make the women's at-large team. The list consists of 21 student-athletes from the sports of fencing, golf, gymnastics, ice hockey, lacrosse, rifle, skiing, swimming and diving, tennis, water polo, bowling, crew and field hockey from NAIA, Canadian and two-year institutions.
The collective grade-point average for the 21 student-athletes that make up the 2014-2015 Capital One Academic All-America Women's At-Large Team was a sparkling 3.91.
Chow earned the first Capital One Academic All-America award of her career with a cumulative GPA of 3.93 in biology. The Wheaton, Illinois native played No. 2 singles and No. 1 doubles as the lone senior for the Trojans during the 2014-2015 season and was also named as an Academic All-Crossroads League performer and a NAIA Scholar-Athlete.
With Chow's honor, Taylor now boasts 10 Capital One Academic All-America recipients for the 2014-2015 year and 44-such accolades in school history. Chow is the first women's tennis player in Taylor history to receive the honor.
