Women's Tennis Scores Fourth-Straight Win
GOSHEN, Ind. - After a quick turnaround following TU's sweep over IU Kokomo, the Trojans got right back to work on Saturday morning to blank Goshen 9-0. The Trojans (8-2, 4-2 CL) have now recorded four consecutive wins with four more contests to play before the Crossroads League Tournament kicks off in early October.
Rostering five players, the Goshen Maple Leafs (0-7, 0-7 CL) surrendered two points right off the bat by defaulting in No. 3 doubles and No. 6 singles. In the remaining two doubles contests, TU's tandems prevailed 8-2 on both courts.
In singles, the Trojans were nearly perfect with Alexa Kling, Mikayla Schultz and Katelyn Gray each posting 6-0, 6-0 shutouts. Molly Fletchall and Annika Zeilstra also pitched in two-set victories in the No. 1 and No. 5 positions, respectively.
The Trojans will return to action on Tuesday when they head to Marion, Indiana, to face the Wildcats of Indiana Wesleyan (7-0, 6-0 CL) at 4:00 p.m.
